Dựa trên light novel cùng tên đoạt giải trong Kyoto Animation Award 2011. Câu chuyện thuộc thể loại dark fantasy, với nhân vật chính là Akihito Kanbara - 1 cậu nam sinh mang dòng máu nửa người, nửa youmu, vì thế cậu có khả năng hồi phục vết thương rất nhanh. Một ngày nọ, Akihito vô tình gặp 1 cô gái chuẩn bị nhảy lầu tại trường, cô gái mang tên Mirai Kuriyama, cô bị cách li và biệt lập vì khả năng điều khiển được máu, vốn là khả năng độc nhất kể cả trong giới tâm linh.
